We clean and repair gutters and downpipes across Perth. We check the gutter, outlet and pipe together when water overflows or leaks at a connection.
Gutters that overflow after cleaning
A full gutter and a leaking downpipe may be part of the same problem. We inspect the gutter, outlet, pipe joints and brackets together. Leaves are not the only cause of overflow. If the gutter still overflows after cleaning, tell us where it happens and whether water also leaks from the downpipe. Underground drains are not automatically included in roof drainage work.
Checking the gutter and downpipe together
- Inspect where water overflows or leaks and follow the visible route through the gutter, outlet and downpipe.
- Agree any clearing, joint repairs, replacement gutter or pipe sections and bracket repairs, using suitable materials. Our quote lists clearing, repairs and replacement sections separately.
- Check the repaired connections and explain any drainage restrictions or downstream work that is not included.
Building height, restricted access and nearby roof damage affect the work. A description from ground level is enough to start an enquiry; photos are optional.
Blockages, joints and water backing up
Causes of overflow beyond leaves and debris
Poor fall, a blocked outlet, damaged joints or a restricted downpipe can also cause overflow. We inspect the visible drainage route and explain the clearing or repairs needed. Overflow during heavy rain does not by itself mean the gutter is too small. We check its condition, fall and outlets before discussing whether a capacity assessment is needed.
Checking outlets and connected downpipes
When water backs up or escapes near an outlet, we inspect the gutter and pipe together. This helps identify the restriction instead of treating the gutter and downpipe as separate faults.
Optional photos taken from the ground
You can email existing or ground-level photos of the gutter, outlet, downpipe or water marks. A written description is enough to request an assessment. Avoid ladders or roof access to collect images.

Include when the gutters were last cleared and whether ground-level drains also back up. We assess the roof on site. Existing photos are optional; do not climb onto the roof or enter an unsafe roof space to take them.
