Roof repairs before restoration
A few broken tiles or a leak around a flashing may only need a local repair. Roof restoration combines necessary repairs with cleaning, preparation and painting where suitable. We check the condition of the roof before recommending the work. Painting alone will not fix damaged tiles, sheets or flashings.
Cleaning and coating may form part of a wider restoration scope. Our cleaning and painting project photographs record those stages at one property, rather than a complete restoration of every roof component.
Roof restoration work and quote
- Inspect the roof tiles or sheets, ridge capping, flashings and drainage to identify repairs.
- Provide a written quote that lists the repairs, cleaning, surface preparation and painting separately. If painting is included, we clean the roof first.
- Confirm the materials, areas to be treated and any work excluded from the quote. We agree any extra work with you and confirm applicable warranty terms in writing.
The quote should also explain roof access, removal of damaged materials and rubbish removal. If the existing roofing is too damaged to repair, we discuss replacement separately.

Leak repairs before cleaning or painting
We check for leaks and agree any repairs before cleaning or painting. Damaged tiles, loose fixings and faulty flashings need repair; a new coat of paint will not fix them. If a local repair is enough, we explain that option.
Restoring a metal roof
A metal roof may be suitable for restoration if the sheets and surrounding roof are still serviceable. We check for rust, damaged sheets, loose fixings and problems with the existing coating before recommending repairs or replacement.

Our quote lists the roof areas, repairs, cleaning, preparation and painting included. It also explains the materials, access and rubbish removal, and any work that is not included. This helps you compare quotes for the same work. Any extra work found necessary during the job is discussed and agreed with you first.
